Navigating the Afternoon Slump - Strategies to Compassionately Rest, Regain Energy & Motivation

Productivity is often prioritized over well-being. We are expected to maintain relentless focus, efficiency, and output throughout the day, while our bodies, minds, and souls demand moments of rest, reflection, and renewal. The common "afternoon slump" — where energy wanes, focus drifts, and fatigue sets in — is often seen as a personal failing or weakness. Yet, it is is a natural signal - an ebb and flow - from our bodies that demands attention and compassionate care, not judgment or punishment.

Rather than forcing ourselves to "power through" these moments in the name of productivity, we can reframe our relationship with rest and energy by embracing strategies that honor our humanity, resist oppressive productivity standards, and cultivate joy and liberation in our daily lives.
