Jansu Edis

Registered Psychotherapist

(Qualifying #11222)

Sometimes you don't need a therapist,

you need another experienced clinician to think alongside you.

I offer consultation for mental health professionals who want support with clinical questions, case conceptualization, therapeutic dynamics, or navigating the realities of private practice.

Why Consult with Jansu?

I bring a combination of clinical training, specialized ongoing learning, and real-world experience that shapes how I approach consultation. My education and clinical work have been complemented by ongoing participation in professional consultation and learning spaces focused on anti-oppressive, LGBTQ+ and queer-affirming practice, BIPOC mental health, relationship and couples therapy, sex therapy, and decolonial approaches to psychotherapy. These experiences have deepened my ability to think beyond individual symptoms and consider the relational, cultural, systemic, and identity-based contexts that shape our clients’ experiences.

I also bring the perspective of an established private practice owner and businessperson, with firsthand experience navigating the clinical, ethical, administrative, documentation, and business realities of running a therapy practice.

Whether you’re looking for another perspective on a complex case, support putting your clinical thinking into words, help finding a way forward when treatment feels stuck, or a second set of eyes on your documentation, I offer thoughtful, practical consultation grounded in curiosity, clinical depth, and respect for your professional judgment.

My approach is grounded in trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, culturally responsive, relational, and liberation-oriented practice. I bring curiosity rather than judgment, and I’ll never assume there is one “right” way to work with a client.

What I Offer for Fellow Therapists

Case Conceptualization:

When a case feels complex, layered, or difficult to make sense of, we can step back and look at the bigger picture together.

Consultation can support you with:

  • Developing or refining a case conceptualization

  • Understanding patterns, relational dynamics, and underlying needs

  • Considering trauma, attachment, identity, culture, and systemic context

  • Exploring how power, oppression, marginalization, and social location may be shaping the therapeutic work

  • Identifying what might be happening within the therapeutic relationship, including stuck points or countertransference

  • Thinking through competing hypotheses without reducing a client to a diagnosis or label

Intervention & Treatment Options:

Sometimes you know what’s happening, but you’re not quite sure what to do next.

We can collaboratively explore:

  • Potential interventions and therapeutic approaches

  • Treatment planning and clinical goals

  • How to respond when a client feels stuck, overwhelmed, shut down, activated, or ambivalent

  • Relational and attachment patterns

  • Emotion and nervous-system regulation

  • Boundaries, communication, conflict, and relationship dynamics

  • Identity, sexuality, gender, culture, and belonging

  • Trauma and intergenerational patterns

  • Perinatal and parenting experiences

  • Working with shame, self-criticism, anxiety, overwhelm, and relational distress

  • Adapting interventions to better fit the client rather than expecting the client to fit the intervention

Documentation Support:

Documentation can sometimes feel like an entirely separate clinical task, especially when you’re trying to capture meaningful therapeutic work clearly, ethically, and efficiently.

Consultation can help you think through:

  • Progress notes and clinical documentation

  • What is clinically relevant to document (and what may not need to be)

  • Clear, concise, and clinically appropriate language

  • Documenting interventions, client responses, risk considerations, and clinical reasoning

  • Writing notes that are accurate and useful without unnecessarily pathologizing clients

  • Strengthening your documentation practices while maintaining your own clinical voice and judgment
